Now, living in the big city of Liverpool, I was finding it hard to find a wee dusty trail to walk down. So I sort of made up my own. This lane is just off the road I live. It looks intriguing and legend has it, (alright then, Wikipedia) that this lane made way to a huge orchard planted here in the 1800's. The walls are from that time and still stand, but instead of an orchard, there now lies between the walls grand mansions and lofty trees.
This lane reminds me of something out of a Charles Dickson's book. Cobbles holding in the secrets of the years past. Hellish to walk on in heels though.
Now here is a lovely wee lane it would seem, the seabed!
When the tide goes out some adventurous, some would say foolish souls race with the tide and walk along the bed before she washes back in and sweeps them away. It would too, the currents in these waters are fierce. How they get back up to dry land, I do not know.
Never mistake the stillness and reflections in the water, it will always know better than you, underneath is a swirling whirling current. Even the boats do not come up this far in the water only big tankers for the current is so strong.
!
Have a nice weekend everyone!
I agree with you, water can be powerful. love the cobblestone street. we still have some in Grand Rapids (did a post on them once). history preserved.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed that a lot. I live on a street named Cobblestone Court, thank goodness no cobblestones but I love the name. We do have some cobblestone walks in our historic town. Some great photos. Thanks for sharing.

Great shots. I like the stone road. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteThe first one really look like a country road to me! Here in Singapore it's a hard task to find some country road, everything's so modern!
ReplyDeleteI wish we had cobblestone roads around here. They are so great looking, and I never wear heels.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I always see your banner and it is breath taking! I love cobble stone paths, and the shoe prints are great! I enjoy each post and everyone has a wonderful take on it!
ReplyDeleteI love that first shot--it looks like it could be on a postcard.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that cobblestone streets seem so romantic. I must be watching way too many old movies. I love your shots. They are all beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine your stilleto heels getting stuck in the cobble stones. I wonder how they laid the stones.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great post. From cobblestone to seabed, great approach. Well done, I say! (Does that sound British?)
